In 2026, the Communist Party of China celebrates the 105th anniversary of its founding. On this momentous occasion, Ningbo Museum of Art presents a special exhibition featuring more than one hundred works selected from its collection. These exhibits reflect the Party’s extraordinary journey, offering a tribute to the Party on its birthday.

One hundred and five years constitute a magnificent epic. From the first spark kindled in a shikumen house in Shanghai to the red flag unfurled across Tian’anmen Square; from the arduous pioneering efforts on Xingye Road to the vigorous advance along the path of national rejuvenation—every step bears witness to the profound strength of faith, and every stage of the journey shines with the enduring light of truth. Uniting and leading the Chinese people, the Communist Party of China has weathered the storms of revolution, the dynamism of socialist construction, and the surging tide of reform and opening up. Through its century-long endeavour, it has written one of the most magnificent chapters in the history of the Chinese nation.

The exhibition is organized into three thematic sections—Original Aspiration and History, Milestones and New Landscape, and Ningbo and the New Era. Bringing together works in oil painting, traditional Chinese painting, printmaking, and sculpture, the exhibition presents a rich artistic narrative of China’s modern development. Using art as a visual chronicle of history and a vehicle for personal expression, the participating artists portray the changes brought about through the Party’s leadership of the Chinese people. Their works capture the profound transformations of rural communities through poverty alleviation initiatives, the nation’s advances in science and technology, and the achievements of ecological conservation and sustainable development. Through these images, significant moments are preserved and brought vividly to life.
